Quick CSS Mockups with Photoshop

You need to make a set of web design mockups for your client. You’d like to find an easy way to show these mockups in clean XHTML and CSS code, because plain JPGs don’t convey the full sense of the design, and sliced tables are evil. In fact, let’s forget table slices ever existed.

Caveat: This article is for people who need to produce valid, standards-compliant mockups quickly, with the graphics tools they already use. This is not a production technique for people who want to get the most benefit out of (X)HTML by creating structural, semantic markup. Creating structural, semantic markup, as A List Apart and most standardistas recommend, still takes time, thought, and hand-coding.

Oscommerce Excel Easypopulate

We released new contribution for oscommerce which allow administrator to import and export inventory in excel’s XLS format. The module name is Oscom Excel. A poor anolog of this script is Easy Populate module. As distinkt from Easy Populate, Excel Module doesn’t require you to convert from one file format to another, and capable to include up to 50.000 product!!! You can import and export appropratiate categories/products as well as whole stock. It support any new fields, like product attributes, languages, quantiny, manufacturers and any other fields.Here are screenshots from admin side.

PHP and AJAX in 2 easy steps.

IBM has done it again. Their Developerworks site has published a 2 part textbook primer on getting started with AJAX from the perspective of a PHP developer. Written by Sean Kelly (Part 1) and Mike Britton (Part 2) of ID Society, these 2 articles introduce you to the magical, buzz-word laden world of AJAX. Google Checkout Now Free to Merchants, Makes USA Today

Google will now process merchant transactions for free through the end of 2007. That’s 13 months of free transaction processing, but not everyone thinks it’s a great idea (PayPal). I first found out about the change in USA Today, the most read newspaper in America, in an article titled “Google offer takes on PayPal.” The Official Google Checkout Blog also wrote about the change.
